CADDIS Fly Fishers

Trout Day

Trout Day"Trout Day" represents our participation in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's Family & Community Fisheries Program.  While this is not fly fishing per sea, Trout Day is a chance to introduce fishing to people that may not otherwise have an opportunity to go fishing.  After all, one usually must make a fisherman (or fisher person for the politically correct) before one can make a fly fisher.

Trout Day is an annual event sponsored by the CADDIS Fly Fishing Club in conjunction with the ARG&FC, the City of Russellville, and our sponsoring merchants.  We help by rigging and donating fishing rods/reels and by helping the fishers on the day of the event, which is normally in early December.

Just prior to the event, the AG&FC stockes the Pleasant View Park pond (located west of the Pleasant View ball fields) with catchable-sized rainbow trout.  Stocking continues approximately once a month throughout the winter.  Trout, being a cold water fish, will not survive when the water warms up in the summer, so you're encouraged to keep and eat what you catch.

CADDIS wishes to thank our sponsors for their generous donations that make Trout Day the great event that it is.  Special thanks to:
